The Empowered Dancers (“ted”, “us”, or “we”), is an online platform subscription service dedicated to the provision of multidisciplinary coaching for the improvement of dance technique. We understand and respect the importance of your privacy and below we explain:

(i) What information we collect about you
For the purposes mentioned in the following paragraph “Why it is being collected” we collect the following categories of personal data when you register on our website, subscribe to classes or our newsletters, or solicit our services for private coaching:
- First and Last Name*
- Email address*
- Country of residence
Data marked * is required in order to provide our service to you. If you do not consent to provide this data, we may not be able to provide our services to you.
We also collect information about your usage of our website through cookies however these are limited to strictly necessary cookies and analytical cookies.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources, so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. (ii) Who is collecting data
Data will be collected by The Empowered Dancers (the “Data Controller”), located in the United Kingdom.
(iii) How we will use this information
We will use this information for the following purposes:
- to provide the services you have subscribed to and send you regular updates on the provision of such services
- to notify you, if you agree when you register on our website, of new products and services that we offer and we think may be of interest to you. to occasionally ask you to participate in one of our surveys or ask you to provide feedback to us
(iv) Marketing
We would like to send you information about new products and services of ours or that are directly affiliated with ted which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you can opt out at a later date.
You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.
If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes you can opt out at any time by clicking the opt out option at the end of all our communications.
(v) How data is stored and with whom it could be shared
Data is recorded and stored on our platform (in the public cloud) and is only accessible to ted personnel for the above-mentioned purposes.
We use third parties such as Paypal to process payment information (we do not receive or process this information) and we use MailChimp to process our marketing newsletters. These companies will only process your data if you purchase a product or subscribe to marketing communications.
We do not transfer your data outside of the United Kingdom.
Data will be stored for a period of 5 years from our last successful contact with you or until your consent is withdrawn.
(vi) Your rights and how to exercise them
You have the right to determine how we use your data and to oppose the purposes of processing at any time. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawful processing of data based on consent up to the point of its withdrawal. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
We remind you that you have the right to request from us access to and rectification or erasure of personal data, or a restriction of processing, or to object to processing of data concerning you.
You also have the right to receive your personal data that you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit such data to another controller without hindrance from us. In exercising your right to data portability, you have the right to have your personal data transmitted directly from a controller to another, where technically feasible.
